Why we’re building this
Insurance appraisers run real businesses on the wrong tools. Word documents duct-taped to Excel spreadsheets, cases scheduled in Outlook, signatures chased through email, files saved across six folders. The work is professional. The tools are not.
AwardLettr exists to close that gap. We build the software the work deserves — and that the appraiser running the work deserves.
How we got here
AwardLettr started as a personal toolkit. An active insurance appraiser, frustrated with the same broken stack every other appraiser was using, started building the platform he wished existed. The first version captured cases. The next generated documents. The one after that tracked time and built invoices.
By the fourth version, other appraisers were asking how they could use it. The toolkit became a platform. Then a product. Then this.
What we believe
- Software should match the work. Generic SaaS bends the appraiser to the tool. We do the opposite — every workflow, every term, every status maps to the way appraisal cases actually move.
- Empower, don’t replace. Your firm name belongs on every document. Your signature belongs on every email. We build the system; you stay the expert.
- Ship fast. Listen close. Every feature traces back to a real customer flagging a real problem. We move quickly because we use the platform every day, on our own cases.
- Look professional. You negotiate against carriers and TPAs with enterprise tools. The platform you run your firm on should look like a peer — not a hobby project.
- Keep the human in the loop. Automation should remove busywork, never replace your judgment. The appraiser stays in charge.
Where we’re going
The vision is the complete operating system for the insurance appraiser: every case captured, every document generated, every billable minute tracked, and every recurring admin task automated away. Mobile-first inspection workflows. AI that speaks appraisal fluently — Award Letters, Panel Declarations, OAs, ACV, RCV, Xactimate. A platform that becomes invisible while you do the work.

Built by an appraiser
AwardLettr is built and run by an active property appraiser with two decades in insurance damage assessment, large-loss claims, and dispute resolution. Every feature we ship is something the founder needed yesterday — or something a beta customer flagged this morning. We use the platform on our own cases. We build for the practice we run.
